John Brown of Harper’s Ferry
Size, plate: 16 inches H x 20 W
A friend of mine, Bill Sessions, who lived in the same building in Seattle’s First Hill district, early 1980’s, was so excited on seeing a proof of this etching that he wrote a 30 page article about it. Sadly, Bill, an addicted smoker whose attempts to quit did not succeed, died of an aneurysm in 1988, in his late 30’s, in his apartment. I never read the article and analysis.
Eighteen proofs of the etching were printed, none of which are in a public collection.
