The Repression of the Revolution
A linocut print I made in 1973 when I was a freshman college student, majoring in art, Parkland College, Champaign, Il. (Parkland was Parkland Junior College when I started, later Parkland Community College).
I have 2 (perhaps 3) extant proofs. One is black and white; the other was printed in silver, blue & black ink.
I don’t recall where I derived the image from; perhaps a photo. I now find the title (I’m writing this background note, Oct. 2018) mildly unfortunate if intriguing. Representative, perhaps, of either youthful idealism or a youthful age interpretative view of society.
